John Edwards Beat Wife During Heated Argument
Not only is John Edwards an admitted adulterer, but now reports claim that he is also a wife beater. Edwards reportedly beat his cancer-ridden wife during a horrible marriage-ending fight.
A good friend of Elizabeth Edwards revealed to the National Enquirer:
"John lost his temper big time. She has the divorce papers drawn up, but she can amend them to charge John with domestic violence."
The brawl was said to be the "final straw" in his wife's decision to end their 32-year marriage.
John Edwards first denied having an affair with ex-staffer Rielle Hunter, until admitting to his adultery in 2009. However, he still denied that he fathered her now almost two-year-old daughter, Frances Quinn. Late last month, Edwards released a statement admitting he was the girl's father.
A friend of Elizabeth's added that she had told her:
"When [John] made the decision to hit me, it was over."
Yet another friend revealed that Elizabeth had violent tendencies herself, and that she would also sometimes physically attack John when talking about his affair with Hunter.
A friend revealed:
"She was so tormented by John's cheating and lies that she lashed out physically at him many times, even slapping him. On a couple of occasions, when the fights became heated, she grabbed him by the shoulders and screamed, 'Why, why, why?!'
"Elizabeth would break down in tears and try to make John explain why he was throwing his family and political life away.
"During one of the confrontations, Elizabeth grabbed his arms and shook him so hard that John had to restrain her."
The latest revelations come in the aftermath of a tell-all book by former Edwards loyalist Andrew Young, which detailed Edwards affair and the cover up.
