Cleveland Woman That Drove on Sidewalk to Get Around School Bus Ordered by Judge to Wear an "Idiot" SIgn as Punishment
In September, a Cleveland woman was caught on video passing a school bus by driving on the sidewalk. In addition to a license suspension and fine, Shena Hardin will also be forced to stand at the scene of her crime wearing an "idiot" sign.
Hardin plead out on Monday to avoid facing a trial. In September, she plead not guilty to charges of not stopping for a school bus and reckless operation.
A bus driver had noticed Hardin passed the bus several times by driving on the sidewalk along East 38th Street, so he notified Cleveland Schools and caught it on camera. On September 11, police set up a sting to catch her and cited her.
As a part of her sentence, Hardin must wear a sign that reads:
Only an idiot would drive on the sidewalk to avoid the school bus."
She will wear it standing near the location of the crime for an hour per day, next Tuesday and Wednesday morning.
Her license was also suspended for 30 days and she must pay a $250 fine.
