Ex-Cuyahoga County Commissioner Jimmy Dimora Being Moved to West Virginia Prison

Former Cuyahoga County commissioner Jimmy Dimora, who was convicted in a public corruption case, will now be serving his prison sentence at a federal facility in West Virginia.

According to U.S. Marshal Pete Elliot, Dimora will soon be moved from a private federal prison in Youngstown to a correctional institution in Glenville, W.Va.

Dimora is among 40 people sentenced to prison following a lengthy federal investigation in Cuyahoga County. He was sentenced to 28 years in prison for various charges including racketeering and other crimes. Despite the conviction, Dimora denies any wrongdoing.

A federal judge had recommended that Dimora serve his prison sentence at a prison in North Carolina, however it is not clear why that recommendation wasn't followed.
