Profanity at US Open Costs Roger Federer $1,500

Roger Federer is being fined $1,500 for audible profanity during CBS's live broadcast of the US Open final. Microphones picked up Federer's exchange with the chair umpire.

Two other players are also being fined for using profanity during the tournament - Vera Zvonareva and Daniel Koellerer. A total of $31,500 is being collected by the tournament. Serena Williams was fined $10,000 for unsportsmanlike conduct and $500 for racket abuse, and Daniel Nestor was charged $5,000 for unsportsmanlike conduct toward a fan.
