After six people became ill after consuming frozen hamburger meat infected with E. Coli, a recall has been issued for 331,582 pounds of Topps brand meat.

The hamburger meat in question is distributed by Topps Meat Co. of Elizabeth, New Jersey. The affected packages of frozen beef patties were distributed nationwide, and carried the number "Est. 9748" inside the USDA mark of inspection, and were produced on either June 22, July 12, or July 23.

Three people have so far been hospitalized, and another three have fallen ill but did not require hospital care.
