God or not bad things happen. My opinion is that too many people use God as an excuse to write off all the bad things that people do. God or not, bad things happen; believing in God will not stop them. And a person that believes in God is not necessarily any less or more likely to do something psychotic than a non believer. I am so sick of people pulling God into these kind of situations. The kid snapped. Blame God, the Devil, society, or the moon. What ever makes it easier for you to sleep at night.
Or instead of writing it off, and putting blame somewhere, why not try to reach out to people? There are people everywhere on the verge of snapping, much like this fellow. Some you can tell; others you can't. If everyone turned off their televisions from time to time in order to connect with one another, instead of a flashing light, there might be a chance that fewer of these kind of incidents would happen. All it takes is a little caring, a more "Christian attitude" if you will.

God is just your way of sleeping better at night.
