Lerner and "our" money

I have long denounced the publics' mania to use its shrinking pool of money to finance and support football stadiums (stadii) intended solely for the profit-and-pleasure playpens of robber-baron football owners. If public money is used in any way for the construction and/or tax payments, then the team which uses the facility should belong 51% to the city footing the bills. In that way, no city can have its football team snatched away at the whim of an owner, leaving the impoverished city with nothing more than faint memories and empty pockets. Isn't it about time the billionaire owners take some responsibility for the money they would have to earn, and get off the notion that
a football team is just another belonging which can be shuffled from city to city, like a whore following a rich convention.
