Kent State's Ben Curtis in Thick of Things at PGA Championship

Former British Open champ and Kent State star Ben Curtis is making some waves at this years PGA Championship. The 31 year old golfer currently sits in second place at even par behind J.B. Holmes. Curtis used a second round score of minus three to vault up 35 places on the leader board. Curtis finished in the top 10 in this years British Open and would love to add another major title to his trophy case.

As part of a marketing deal that Curtis made with the NFL he is donning Detroit Lions this weekend. Curtis has heard from spectators in Michigan who are heckling him for wearing the hapless teams colors and says:

“I’ve heard a lot of comments along the lines of ‘He’s wearing a Lions jersey so you know there’s no way he can win,’ ” Curtis admitted.

Hopefully he can make the Lions a winner this weekend and with the play that he has shown recently there may be good chance of that.
