Happy Labor Day from The Cleveland Leader!

The Cleveland Leader wishes you and your loved ones a happy Labor Day. Congress made Labor Day an official holiday in 1894 and the first Monday of September is recognized by all fifty states as an official holiday.

This Labor Day will be a somber one for many in Cleveland as the annual 11th Congressional District Labor Day Parade, which attracts thousands of revelers, will be without their top host after Stephanie Tubbs Jones, who represents the area, died tragically less than two weeks. The parade, however, will go on and many tributes to her legacy will be planned.

However you plan on celebrating the holiday, we hope that you have a happy and safe day!
