Led Zeppelin to Tour Without Robert Plant?

Rumors of a Led Zeppelin tour have been flying around since at least 2007, and the latest one from September indicated that the band was gearing up for a huge 2009 summer tour. Well now it seems that a tour may indeed be happening, but not without a hitch - Robert Plant might not be a part of it.

MuchMusic's Matt Wells was interviewing Dee Snider, who shares a manager with Robert Plant, for a new episode of MuchMoreMusic's Where You At Baby, when he let the news slip. According to Snider, Led Zeppelin will go on tour, but they might not tour with Robert Plant.

Snider says that if Plant turns down the lucrative offer, Myles Kennedy, the lead singer from Alter Bridge, will take his place.

Guitarist Jimmy Page, bassist John Paul Jones, and drummer Jason Bonham are presumably all on-board, but one can't help but wonder how much excitement will be lost if the legendary band were to be fronted by Myles.

Led Zeppelin played London's O2 arena last year, and in early September, Page said "That was our reunion. “It’s nothing as monumental as what people are speculating and projecting.”

Page continued, saying, "If you’re going to do a reunion, you need four members.” Robert Plant currently has a commitment to touring with US country singer Alison Krauss, and is nearing the end of a six-month world tour to promote their 2007 album "Raising Sand."

If the latest rumors are to be believed, you might need four members for a "reunion", but not for a tour.
