Phillies Beat Dodgers 8-5 In Game 2 Of NLCS; Up 2-0 in Series

NL East champion the Philadelphia Phillies have taken care of business and won the first two games of the National League Championship Series as they defeated the Los Angeles Dodgers 8-5 today. Phillies Centerfielder Shane Victorino went 2-5 and drove in 4 runs for the Phillies as the team scored 4 in the 2nd and third. The Dodgers Manny Ramirez tried to bring his club back with a 3 run hr in the third but the Dodgers offense didn't have any more juice the rest of the game and now find themselves down 2-0 in the best of 7 series.

Picking up the win for the Philly was Brett Myers who went 5 innings. Brad Lidge worked a 1-2-3 9th for the Phillies as he picked up his second save in as many days. The loser was Dodgers right handed pitcher Chad Billingsley, who got chased after only 2 1/3 innings and was responsible for all the runners that scored against his team.

The Series now moves to Los Angeles and will resume on Sunday. The NLCS airs on FOX.
