Wrong

The reason Kiper bashed both picks is because they were horrible value. Heyward-Bey would've been available in the teens, and Mitchell would've been sitting around probably in the sixth or seventh round. If the Raiders wanted to maxmize the value for thier picks, they should've traded down, gotten extra picks and then gotten the same guys and other guys with the extra picks.

Kiper was right. The draft is not about necessarily who will be the best only, but a combination of picking the best people at the value at which they're demanded. The Raiders could've easily gotten Heyward-Bey and Mitchell and also a bunch of other guys is they had assessed value as well as talent.

Plus I'm just going to go out there and say Crabtree is going to be a much better wideout, and Mitchell will have to deal with a lot faster players than he covered at Ohio (not OSU, mind you). Good luck, Al.
