Google Chrome is now available in virtual reality. To do this, you will need to use Google’s Daydream View headset together with your smartphone. This means you’ll have the opportunity to navigate the internet in a virtual reality. The internet giant is planning the release of the Google Canary browser which will be dedicated to virtual reality, but until then, you will have to use the typical Google Chrome.

Compatibility issues

This experience cannot come with a fluent performance. This is why in virtual reality some web pages will react better than others. This is still one of the most important points to consider if you are planning to use the technology yourself. It thus becomes an issue of what the potential web pages can look like instead of what the technology can mean for you. It is still early in the game and this is why the technologies are not adapted to the huge array of web pages on the internet.

In the meantime, Google is preparing the Cannary browser to replace Chrome in the virtual reality mode. This may come with a better user experience but at the same time, it can represent a huge challenge for the internet giant. Where many companies fail to offer a solid alternative, Google is actually producing the next generation of internet browsing.

Virtual reality issues

Many critics have also raised a valid point about virtual reality. It seems that people are still generally unwilling to put technology on their faces. And it is unlikely that this would change in the future. This is why the virtual reality browsing experience is not made for the mass consumer as it rather represents a niche market.

Another problem which is not discussed by many critics comes with the impact virtual reality has on your vision as a user. Even with a top resolution, it is still not normal for the human eye to be as close to an artificial light source as with virtual reality. In a world where the vision quality is deteriorating at an alarming pace due to normal laptop screens which are not as close to the eye as the screens of virtual reality, it seems that these cutting-edge technologies are just not made for the benefit of the human overall, but rather as an entertainment option which is not exactly beneficial to your vision.

Google is now experiment with virtual reality browsing and it may even come up with a new design which could be better for the human eyes and which can also not disturb actual human contact and the socializing capabilities which most people feel that the virtual reality is impending with. This is why finding a good solution will go beyond what can be seen with the virtual reality as we know it today as it may be down to the overall functionality of such devices and their real use before a large number of people can actually consider virtual browsing.
