Report: Shaquille O’Neal to Cavaliers "Inevitable"

The Cleveland Cavaliers are getting ready to seal the deal in the rumored Shaquille O’Neal trade. Yahoo Sports wrote today:
The Shaq-to-Cleveland trade talks have gained momentum and Cavaliers officials are nearing the conclusion they should make the move for O’Neal, sources said. Now, they have to find the package that’ll work with Phoenix.
One league executive says there’s an “inevitability” to the talks and that, “It’s going to get done.”
The deal looks to a cash saving measure for the Phoenix Suns who would get Ben Wallace and Sasha Pavlovic along with cash considerations.

This deal is unfair. Shaq should have to earn a trip to the finals not just get on a team which was 2 wins from the finals this year. Ridiculous. I am not sure why no one has spoken about this. Anyone can go to a winning team and win if they are the needed component. Shaq cannot get it done without a great guard can he? Kobe, Wade and Lebron. Nash was not good enough and neither was Shaq to even go to the playoffs. Now Shaq gets a free ride.
No center or player for that fact can win a championship by himself, not even Jordan. Basketball still takes a colective group of individuals, unified to win. Miami couldn't do it before Shaq and everyone knows that Miami didn't want Shaq anymore and the Suns was a bad choice because of timing and conflicting styles.
Couldn't you say just as easily that kobe and wade couldn't do it without Shaq? The Heat got out in the first round and Wade was hot this year. And the Lakers needed a whole cast of characters to get back to the Finals without Shaq. If Shaq is the component that pushes Cleveland over the hump, how is that a free ride? Varejao and Ilgauskis' poor defense was a big part of why the Cavs lost to the magic... Shaq's got a big job ahead of him in my opinion. Its pretty obvious you're just a Shaq hater cuz you're simply not acknowledging Shaq's presence was a key part to those team's championship runs.
i like shaq more than the other players so he have to go cavs. cavs need shaq the dont got enough players
If all parties are happy, then it is a fair deal. Teams have different reasons for doing different things. Being 2 games shy of an NBA final is a BIG DEAL. I remember when Cleveland lost a world Series just on 1 pitch. So, 2 games is a big deal. The Cavs do not want to go to the finals. Been there...done that. They want the trophy. Boston did it with the big 3. So, why not Cleveland...and why not Shaq. If he is the missing piece to the puzzle then get it and get that trophy. The Cavs have to be able to beat Boston, Orlando and the Lakers...with Shaq aboard and possibly Charlie V this is a done deal.
Great combination. This has me looking forward to the 2010 season, which I completely wasn't after the Lakers were handed the title. Here's hoping that Shaq gets his fifth ring and Bron gets his first.
I do not give Shaq much credit if he wins a title with Lebron. I agree with the first poster. Kobe's win this year overshadowed anything Shaq ever did because Kobe did it without another big all star. Shaq cannot win a title on another team. He is an arrogant guy and he will never let Lebron forget that he won him a title if that happens.
On my last message (first comment correct) I should have proof read.I didn't read it before I posted. I meant Shaq can win a title on another team like the Cavs, but if he does he will never let Lebron forget that he helped him win it. I should proof read. Do I think Lebron and Shaq can win the title? Maybe. If Shaq neutralizes Howard in the post, but on the other hand the Magic is looking good also with the addition of Carter. Boston in my mind should have made more changes to an old lineup. San Antonio is looking better, so who knows if the Lakers or Spurs make it to the finals.
