Farrah Fawcett Passes Away, Ending Long Battle with Cancer
Actress Farrah Fawcett was said to have been read her last rites on Wednesday after doctors told her that she was nearing the end of her life. After a three year battle with cancer, Fawcett passed away Thursday morning at St. John's Health Center in Los Angeles at the age of 62.
Fawcett's longtime partner Ryan O'Neal was at her bedside in the Intensive Care Unit when she died this morning. Their son, Redmond O'Neal, was not present.
The actress was first diagnosed with cancer in 2006. She was deemed to be cancer-free in February 2007 after undergoing chemotherapy and other treatments. A new tumor, however, appeared in May 2007 and she began treatment once again. Recently she discovered that the cancer had spread to her liver, and stopped treatment last month.
