Concert Review: Our Lady Peace August 20th @ House of Blues
Meese opened the night with an average set of alternative rock songs. This quartet from Denver set the mood for the night with real, down to earth songs that kept the crowd chanting and shouting for more.
By the time Our Lady Peace stepped onto the stage, the crowd had worn themselves out shouting "O-L-P", "O-L-P". They kept that energy alive all night, screaming and singing along with Raine Maida.
"O-L-P" played a hefty set that included powerful hits like "Starseed" and "Superman's Dead". They slowed things down a bit for the ballad -type "Anybody Home". The band stayed connected with the audience throughout the show. Near the end of "Superman's Dead", Raine chuckled into the microphone: "I think this is gonna be a great night"
It certainly was a great night. This was the first time seeing Our Lady Peace for me. I knew all of the songs they played and they were all done so well that I left the show feeling like a got my money's worth. When they stop in town again sometime soon I would definitely recommend going.
