Cedar Point Announces New Water Ride that Will Debut in 2010
Cedar Point has announced a new water ride called Shoot the Rapids that will debut at the Sandusky amusement park next summer. The company stated in a press release:
During the 2,100-foot-long journey, adventurers will travel through a wooded area and around an illegal still used for brewing sweet-tasting elixir, all while encountering surprise water elements and special effects. Guests will navigate the waters aboard a 10-passenger boat. Riders will be seated in five rows of two and will be secured by individual over-the-head lap bars.
The excitement builds when the boats ascend one of two lift hills. The first and largest hill will be 85 feet tall and will drop riders down onto Millennium Island at a 45-degree angle. The second hill will be 49 feet tall and will end with a dramatic "shoot" through water rapids and rockwork.

what a waste of money u think they would put a coaster to draw people in instead u do this. way to bring people in in a dieing ecnomy somthing u can use 3 months of the year
what a GREAT waste of money. since cedar fair has obtained lots of the really great amusement parks in the country it seems they've been trying to diversify them. cedar point is known for its high thrills with its assortment of coasters while say kings island is known for being a more family/kid friendly park. kings island has been putting in more coasters to attract the thrill seeking crowds and it seems cedar point is now attempting to draw more families. i agree more coasters would be great but everything has to be kept in balance. dont worry though, i dont think theyll go too terribly long before adding another innovative top-of-the-line roller coaster to their line-up.
