TV Review: Dexter Season 4 on Showtime

Miami is a very dangerous place to be, if you are a murderer who happened to escape the eye of The Miami Police Department. Lucky for Miami residents, Dexter Morgan is there to pick up the pieces. The first four episodes of Dexter have left little doubt that this season is going to be a killer.

Dexter has a new wife, a new address and fortunately for Showtime viewers, the same hobby. It’s hard to believe that this show is still improving after the first three spectacular seasons, but add John Lithgow to an already talented and cohesive cast, and they have created a recipe for even more evil goodness. Sunday night is going to be a thrill for those who have, or are about to, discover how good the combination of Dexter and Californication are.

I have to admit, the only thing not to like about this show, is that each season will eventually end. Dexter leaves you craving more and more of the brutal darkness that haunts his soul, very like a great movie you wish you could see for the first time all over again. The great thing about Dexter is he comes back every week for twelve weeks for an hour of television genius. It is a great way to start off the week.

Not disclosing any of the plot will be a favor to those of you who are looking forward to the start of Season 4. If you were a fan who has been eagerly waiting, you will not be disappointed with this season’s incarnation. If you are a new viewer, go out and buy the first three seasons on DVD so you are all caught up.

I liked the episode a lot, and overall I like everything about the show, except for one thing: long term creativity. Dexter continues to kill and wriggle out of different situation. It's fun, it's wrong to enjoy, but it's the same. I'll still watch, but I would like to see some changes. The first scene with the Trinity Killer is the most disturbing of the whole series.
