Snow Patrol – Live in Columbus

Last Sunday night I drove down to Columbus to see Snow Patrol perform at the Lifestyle Community Pavilion. This was my first time attending a show at this venue and it is really nice. This show was inside but there is also an outdoor venue adjacent to the indoor stage. There are some great bands on the lineup for fall in Columbus including, Stone Temple Pilots, Pete Yorn, OK Go, Them Crooked Vultures and Our Lady Peace.

I know that this might seem like a ridiculous statement but Snow Patrol has been number one on my list of bands to see. Most people probably know this band from their hit song "Chasing Cars" which was featured on Grey's Anatomy a few years ago. "Chasing Cars" was on the band's 4th album titled "Eyes Open". In October of 2008 the band released their 5th studio album titled "A Hundred Million Suns".

Snow Patrol took the stage in Columbus a little before 9:30. They opened the show with "If There's A Rocket Tie Me To It". A Perfect opening song in my opinion. Since this was my first time at this venue I was disappointed in where I was standing. The reserved seats are in front of the stage so if you purchased general admission tickets (which I did) you can't get very close to the stage.

The set was pretty basic with minimal props. Gary Lightbody, the lead singer of the band talked to the crowd quite frequently throughout the show. He seems like a very friendly down-to-earth person. He actually broke out in laughter during one of the songs and missed a line or two.

I was very glad to hear a few of my favorite songs such as "Chocolate" and "How to Be Dead". "Hands Open" was the third song played and even though it isn't one of my favorites, it gave me chills. It was an awesome performance. A few of the other songs played that night were "Finsh Line", "Crack The Shutters", "Run", "Open Your Eyes", and "Make This Go On Forever". I could of listened to them perform for hours. The show seemed to go by so fast and it was over before I knew it. I know it would be impossible for them to play every song they have but it sure would of been nice.

Hi from a former Berean! Glad you enjoyed the gig; it won't be your last. Snow Patrol are ALWAYS worth whatever it takes to get you to their shows. (I've seen them 3 times this year and have a few more to look forward to when they return to the UK.) It's obvious they all love what they're doing and really appreciate the audience reaction. A Hundred Million Suns is a real gem; it gets better with each listen. SP inspire alot of love, welcome to the fold.

I think you may have been confused, this venue has no reserved seats-- they are all GA. I was in the front row and I had a GA ticket. It's all in how early you line up...

Oh wow. I did not know that. I assumed the fans that had seats purchased them. Good to know. Thanks!
