Steel Magnolia performs at Grand Ole Opry tonight

CMT Can You Duet? winners Steel Magnolia will make their debut on the world-famous Grand Ole Opry, The Show That Made Country Music Famous on Oct. 17 at the Grand Ole Opry House in Nashville.

The rising stars, whose debut single, “Keep On Lovin You,” is a Top 40 Country radio hit, will round out a bill that also includes Opry member Vince Gill and Holly Williams, among others, at 7 p.m. Tickets to the show are available at opry.com and 615-871-OPRY.

Steel Magnolia (comprised of Meghan Linsey and Joshua Scott Jones) considers performing on the Grand Ole Opry one of the biggest honors bestowed upon a Country artist.

“It’s such an honor to play the Opry” says Meghan. “When you play the Grand Ole Opry it’s like you have arrived. Every legend in Country music has played there. It’s a huge honor.”

“[There’s] this thing. . .when you walk into this historical place and know that so many great legends have played here. . . It’s a turning point in our career,” says Joshua. “[It’s] a new validation as a singer and performer. You get that feeling of the history behind it.”

With their dynamic harmony and powerhouse vocals, Steel Magnolia became early fan and critical favorites to win the top-rated CMT showcase. Since their win, Meghan and Joshua have been on a whirlwind tour of the US – visiting radio, conducting a host of TV and print interviews, and performing their brand of southern country soul at events including a recent pre-game concert and national anthem at the Pittsburgh Steelers’ 65,000-capacity Heinz Field.

They're currently in the studio with award-winning producer Dann Huff (Faith Hill, Carrie Underwood, Keith Urban), recording their Big Machine Records debut, due in February 2010.
