Witness, BlessTheFall

Witness, BlessTheFall

It’s been more than two years ago since BlessTheFall debuted onto the post-hardcore scene with His Last Walk and now they’ve given us their sophomore effort, Witness. Witness starts with “2.0” starting like an intro of screams and hard-charging shreddings pummeling you into the ground getting you ready for “What’s Left Of Me” as it’s a pretty cool track of monstrous roars and heart-ripping singing backed by rumbling double bass grooves and whipping frets. “To Hell And Back” continued the screamo brilliance as rolling bass licks and shear guitars emphasized the duet of demonic shouting and harmonious tenor vocals that protruded throughout this deep cut.

“God Wears Gucci” however lightens up a smidge, but still kept the harshness in its tone as it has this great chorus that could be sung in unison at any event and the instrumentations could definitely get any fan to head bang aggressively as this track has many layers to its soul. Next is this album’s title track as a typical metalcore effort; yet has tinges of screamo and post-hardcore feeling in its body as “Witness” has tons of attitude in its vibrato and definitely could inspire a mosh pit at any show. “Last Ones” gives us their depth as metallic mad scientists as it has both dark ambition mixed in nicely with beautiful structures and brooding beats that will break your neck.

“We’ll Sleep When We’re Dead” slips in some ambient chords before it rips you apart with its heaviness and rich technical aspects digging deep into you with its breathtaking vocals and gripping axe attack. “Skinwalkers” fits the same mold as it’s another dim escape into the macabre and intellectual as it’s a good choice to place near the end of this disc. “Stay Still” finalizes things in a power ballad that has echoed lyrics, powerful riffs and a strong message captivates you until the last moment. BlessTheFall has created another chart-topping success with Witness and we can’t wait for their third opus.
