Browns Players Talk About Upcoming Battle With the Bears

Wide Receiver Joshua Cribbs (On if he gets motivated by playing another team that is known for its special teams play)- “I love going against a good special teams unit. This is a great special teams unit, if not one of the best in the league. We are all up for this one on [special] teams to matchup against a good football team.”

(On if it is a goal to break Brian Mitchell’s touchdown return record)- “Definitely. I grew up watching Brian Mitchell return kicks and play running back. That’s one of my idols in the NFL. I’m chasing the same goal.”

(On if Devin Hester developing from a special teams player to a wide receiver is an inspiration to him)- “It definitely is an inspiration. Everything about his play is an inspiration to me. He’s knocked down a lot of doors for the return game, special teams players becoming outstanding offensive players. He’s knocking down a lot of doors and letting coaches know that [special] teams players can be core players.”

Offensive Lineman Hank Fraley (On his career in Cleveland)- “It’s been fun. As a team, we haven’t won like we expect to, but the guys here have been great. [My] career here has been great. I’m fine. I’m just trying to fit in wherever I can. If the coaches ask me, lately it’s been tight end, I’ve been playing a little of that, guard, if somebody goes down. Hopefully nobody ever has to go down. I guess when my number is dialed, I’m trying to make sure I’m ready to play and that’s how I’ve been preparing this last week.”

(On if he came into the year thinking he would play multiple positions)- “I think every year I just take that mindset, if it wasn’t going to at center, hopefully I can provide, play guard, play tackle. It’s just a thing, whatever I can do and just help the team, wherever it is at. This year, it’s been trying to help (Alex) Mack out, making sure he’s on top of everything, because I know how it can be as a rookie. Just going out and playing wherever, give our defense a look running scout team.”

Wide Receiver Brian Robiskie (On if he feels like the team is making progress)- “Yes, I think we’re definitely making progress every week. Sometimes you can’t see it on Sunday and that’s the frustrating part, is that we definitely know that we’re making strides and we’re going in the right direction and then we come out Sunday and just don’t seem to get it together. We’re trying to continue to get it to that point.”

(On if it is tough not being able to contribute as much as he had hoped he would)- “Obviously, it’s tough not winning and then not being able to contribute to help the team. That’s the biggest thing. I’m willing to do whatever it takes for us to win games. I think that’s the biggest thing for guys right now, is just to win and help the team get to where we want to be.”

Defensive Back Eric Wright (On Jay Cutler)- “He has great ability as a Pro Bowl quarterback. [He is] a guy that has extreme confidence in his arm and his ability. The way I look at it, I want to stay close to the receivers and be able to try to make plays on the ball when I have the opportunity.”

(On Devin Hester)- “Devin Hester’s been doing a great job for them. I think he’s really started to take on that wide receiver role really well. He’s an exceptional athlete and obviously has played a lot of positions in his life time. He’s definitely an explosive player and somebody that can change the game at any moment.”
