VOINOVICH ONLY ABSENT U.S. SENATOR FOR BIG VOTE

Ohio’s Senator George Voinovich was the only U. S. Senator to not cast a vote yesterday on moving the historic health care bill. It didn’t make a difference since his would have been the 40th Republican vote against moving the bill to a floor vote.

Democrats had 60 votes to overcome a filibuster by Republicans. The vote was 60-39.

Voinovich didn’t want to waste time voting, as the Plain Dealer explains here: http://www.cleveland.com/open/index.ssf/2009/11/sen_george_voinovich_why_waste.html

According to a Huffington report Voinovich was celebrating at a party marking his 30 year victory over Dennis Kucinich in 1979: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2009/11/21/sealed-with-a-kiss-dems-u_n_366626.html

Here’s a man who, with his family, has enjoyed public health by virtue of his service in various government positions at least half his life. I figure more than 40 years since he was a state representative.

Yet, he would have voted to delay health coverage to some 40 million other Americans, if he had been at the job yesterday.

But he had more important things to do.

what an idiot!!

Why should I have to pay his health care and for his family too? Screw these jokers. No fair shake for us then nothing for him.Hey it would save tax money!

That uncovered the corruption of the 2004 election in Ohio, in Voinovitch's part of the state--believe me he got thousands of emails to not vote on this since no one thought he could vote for it, but to show we have not gone away.

He enjoyed Public benefits and voted to delay health coverage to some 40 million other Americans ?

But then it didnt make a difference on where he would have voted ... We really dont know the kind of lobbying that goes around Politics. If he hasnt turned up there could a million explanations .

Ohio must be so proud...

Bet he got some $real nice gifts$ from his old corporate pals at this party.

Voinovich's non-vote for healthcare debate was atrocious. America and democracy come first, the low road Republican Party comes after that. Does Mr. Voinovich and his Confederates prefer violence rather than debate?

Rather than screwing off on our dime the moronic RINO should have at least cast a vote against this fascist agenda. So he conducted himself as he normally does, like a coward.

This jerk doesn't realize, or perhaps does, that if he had been present and voted no as any sane person would, Joe Lieberman might have crossed the aisle and killed this monster.

Men like Voinovich prove that the Republican Party has lost its soul and now stands for nothing.

When the Left controls the country and makes us all slaves, we will have Voinovich to thank. I hope they hang him.

he should have voted against it regardless of outcome. the left is so happy they are getting everything they want. i only hope the sheep that elected them will hold them responsible when they are either broke or out of work or homeless. hey, dont get me wrong, the republicans gave us this mess by not doing anything when they had the majority and now we must pay. i can survive the coming day of judgement, can you? you will be the first out in the street complaining how you have nothing and want it from someone else. well, come and take it. this is one american who can and will defend himself from those who will take from him to give to someone who will not provide for himself. there are still a few, very few of us left... call us what you will, neanderthals, cavemen, racists, whatever, but your arrows fall short. we are the type of men who are needed now more than ever, and you metromen and women will come to learn this. enjoy your short time in power. i can wait.... our day is coming.

Stupidity is not a matter, at least he is doing some thing man.... lets appreciate for it....

Thanks

That is one guy who dont care for other people other than himself. He wouldn't even think of his family or his family's future. Lets just hope he wont be needing such in the following years to come.

Senator George Voinovich's absence in the said "Big Vote" that he should be attending is important enough. What is more important than this? He is a government official and has his duties and responsibilities for the government. His absence should be inexcusable.

No matter where you go, you will find such politicians who care les for the people as much as they care more for themselves. Externally they look lovey dovey and a happy family and all that, but I really bet he is i sane bit estranged from his family. Delaying a health benefit to Americans is not American. We really don’t know who would have influenced him with money or other benefits for him not to vote. Politics is a dirty game my friends.

Weldon.
