White House Party Crashers May Face Criminal Charges

It turns out that crashing a state dinner at the White House may be a punishable offense afterall. The Secret Service said Friday that Michaele and Tareq Salahi, who crashed President Barack Obama's first-ever state dinner, may face criminal charges.

Jim Mackin, a spokesman for the Secret Service, said that the agency is getting closer to beginning a criminal investigation and explains that that's one of the reasons that the Secret Service hasn' explained what happened when the Salahis arrived at the security checkpoint on Tuesday for the dinner honoring Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.

Mackin said that as the probe moves towards a criminal investigation, there's little the Secret Service can say but notes that the agency is not leaving any options off the table.

The Salahis were not invited to the dinner, but somehow managed to get past Secret Service checkpoints and get photographed with some of the country's most powerful people including Vice President Joe Biden and White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel.

Sources reveal that the Salahis, who are currently auditioning to appear in Bravo's "Real Housewives of Washington", concoted an invite to the party to impress producers. The couple has been trailed by cameras for months while producers try to decide who will appear in the show. Of couse, they were accompanied by cameras as they approached the White House for the party.

After the Salahis told producers that "they were invited" to the most exclusive Washington D.C. party of the year, the couple spent eight hours being groomed in front of the cameras. Producers took the couple's word for it, but their hoax was almost revealed when a hairstylist working on Michaele asked to see the invite.

James Packard-Gomez, CEO of the Erwin Gomez Salon, told the Washington Post:

"She starts rumaging through her purse, and then said, "It must be out in the car."

After the couple were prepped, the camera crew followed them to the White House where they caused a stir amongst the crowd queing up to get in. They were at first denied entry to the party. But somehow they got in, and the Secret Service is keeping that under wraps for now.

If there GOP they go free

Look if this had happen to a minority or during the Bush years the person would be in jail now. Some people like the Gov. of California think their above the law because of money and friends. Now I found it interesting that after the first check point with no invite this couple was allowed to continue. Obama had a Foreign President who could have been attacked by this couple yet they expect to get away with it. On a positive note this is the first time in 8 years that a department has publicly said they were wrong. During the Bush years it was the blame game and no one took responsiblity.
