Tiger Woods and Barack Obama on Ill-Timed Golf Magazine Cover

The timing couldn't have been worse. Golf Magazine's latest issue features Tiger Woods on cover as Barack Obama's caddy and the headline: "10 Tips Obama Can Take From Tiger." We're betting that Golf Digest wishes they could unpublish the issue.

In the article, the author makes the arguement that Obama might learn from Tiger's mastery of "the quick recovery". The author says that the golfer is "a good role model because he has always been able to pull himself together after setbacks." Woods also receives praise for his skill and agility with the media. An example is a quote from Tiger himself: "My dad taught me that when I'm asked a question, I have control of the answer." As for image control, it's argued that Obama could benefit most from a Woods-like agility with image control: "Tiger never does anything that would make him ridiculous."

I'm sure if you've been following the Tiger Woods car accident and cheating scandal for the past week, a few of those statements made you chuckle.

According to the magazine's publicist, the magazine went to press well ahead of Woods' ill-timed Nov. 27 accident, and emphasizes that the issue focuses on how the Obama administration should embrace golf due to the positive impact of the game on the economy.

Overheard @ the offices of Golf Digest - "can we republish this? is John Daly available?"

TIGER = THE FACE OF A CHEAT.

Wonder if Tiger spills his love secrets on the golf course .

wow

Tiger needs to change his name to "Cheat-ah"

it looks like Obama is bitch #10

We should focus on golf and not on Tiger's private life. He has also done lots of charitable works but nosey people who themselve are full of blemishes love to talk ill of others.

I agree with Summer3, never focus on his personal instead look on what he has contributed to other people's lives buy his charitable works.

I chuckled when I read the part : "Tiger never does anything that would make him ridiculous" and I have been following the Nov 27 accident news since it happened and now he has to make up for all the agony he put his wife and kids through. If not for Tioger's scandalous affair, I can vouch that the office can take tips from Tiger would have had a positive impact. Golf digest cannot un-publish the issue just as much as the damage caused by the Golfer cannot be undone. Shareholder loss caused by Woods' extramarital affairs to be between $5 billion and $12 billion
