Prince Charles May be Skipped Over When Queen Dies

When Queen Elizabeth, 83, dies it may not be her son Prince Charles that takes over the throne. Instead, Charles' son Prince William, 27, may instead be crowned King of England. A leaked confidential document reveals that William is being groomed as a "shadow king" by the Queen, and is expected to take on many of his grandmother's public duties next year.

The UK's Mail on Sunday paper obtained a secret treasury document that reveals William, the oldest child of Prince Charles and the late Princess Diana, will take on more royal responsibilities beginning in 2010. This will ease some of the burden on Elizabeth and her husband, Prince Philip.

William will represent Queen Elizabeth on a trip to New Zealand and Australia next month, and at the soccer World Cup in South Africa next year. The Queen has an average of 400 official engagements annually.

The leaked document showed a new financial arrangement for Charles to deduct his sons' official expenses from his tax return. Officials at the Buckingham Palace denied the reports, insisting that William and his brother, Prince Harry, ar focused on their military careers at this time.

This document, however, only fuels speculation that Prince Charles, 61, will be skipped over for the crown when the Queen does one day die.

More likely he will be crowned King of the United Kingdom seeing as though there hasn't been a King of England since the Acts of Union in 1707. For William or Charles to be King of England the United Kingdom would have to break up and England to once again become a sovereign independent country. This isnt looking likely any time soon

No doubt undoubtedly.

I am sorry to know about late queen Elizabeth. But I think giving crown to her grand son is really good as because youth mind and blood has better quality to rule over the democrats. However youth people have new and fresh idea to develop a nation.

May God give her a long life so that we should not talk on this matter but death is universal truth and we all should accept it. As per my opinion should take over all charges after her. Because Charles' son is just only of 27 years old and he is not as mature as is.

I don't think you or anyone else can tell who will be mature enough to do anything. For all we know William is the mature one over Charles (which seems to be accurate). William will make a fine King...Charles? He doesn't seem to make the best decisions.

What do kings and queens do nowadays?

Man is mortal and we all know that. After the death of the queen the throne should be provided to the young ruler because he just 27 with a highly energetic body and mind so it will be easy for him to rule his reign with advance and modern techniques.

According to me after queen the crown system should be ban but it is a tradition so we all have to follow this. Grandson is only of 27 years there is two possibility that he can do more and more work or he will be fail due to the lack of experience.

He is the first male in line to the throne to not be a mason in over 300 years. You can thank his surrogate 'father' - Lord Montgomery - who so detested the Freemasons that he convinced Charles to not be part of it.
