CNN May Ban Kathy Griffin for F-Bomb on New Year's Eve

Controversial comedienne Kathy Griffin may be ringing in the new year without CNN next year, as she may be banned from the network for dropping the infamous four-letter F-bomb during the live show on New Year's Eve.

An insider revealed to PopEater.com:

"She was a total embarrassment to the network that calls themselves 'The Most Trusted Name in News. Even Anderson [Cooper, who co-hosted] thinks it's time to say goodbye to Kathy."

But it wasn't just the F-bomb that got viewers' panties in a bunch. Others criticized the red-head for her off-color jokes about needing a "bump" of cocaine and asking Cooper if he pleasured himself while looking in a mirror.

Despite the rumors, Griffin says she isn't phased by it. Speaking with talk show host Craig Ferguson Tuesday evening when he called her for the "Late, Late Show", she said:

"I don't know if I got canned. don't feel I have really done a job well until I get fired. Am I getting fired from this phone call? Tell me what's going on."

Griffin also got the chance to explain herself to Ferguson and share her side of the story. She says that the whole F-bomb thing was a simple issue of miscommunication. She said she was only trying to explain how amusing the name "Falcon" was and how it sounded similar to an explicit word.

Speaking about the infamous "balloon boy" incident, Griffin had said:

"His own mother has an accent and there were times that it sounded almost as if she pronounced the name of her own child Falcon as a verb that adult film actors use when they're f------."

CNN says that they have not made any decisions about next year's show. A spokesperson for the network said:

"Stories about Kathy Griffin being banned from CNN are incorrect."

Since the live TV slip-up, Griffin has been trying not to screw up again:

"I'm really on my best freaking behavior - it's killing me!"
