Tato Nano Will Likely Sell for About $8,000 in the US

In 2007, we wrote:

A $2,400 car is on track from Tata Motors. The company plans to sell the car beginning next year.

Tata Motors is an Indian based car manufacturer. No plans are set to import the car to America. The company has the industry buzzing to see if they can actually pull it off. The high price of steel may thwart their plans.

Nissan, Toyota, and China company Chery are said to be in the process to see if a car priced at the $3,000 price range is feasible.

Tata Motors, of course, made good on their promise and produced the ultra-cheap Tata Nano. The Nano is expected to make its way to the USA but Detroit News is reporting that the car will probably be priced at about $8,000.

The current Nano only has a 2-Cylinder engine and has a maximum speed of 65 MPH. That will likely be upped in the power starved America.
