Troy Smith Wants to Play for the Browns
Troy Smith must have been knocked a few too many times in the head. During a recent interview with Mark "Munch" Bishop of ESPN Radio's Cleveland affiliate, Smith admitted to wanting to commit career suicide. Currently a member of the Baltimore Ravens, the old Cleveland Browns team that packed up and moved out of town in the late 1990's, Smith says that he'd love to play for the Browns.
He said:
"There is no doubt about it. It has always been a childhood dream of mine. It's funny how we always talk about Clevelnand. That's the first thing that comes to mind with anything I do whether I get a chance to come home and be a part of that organization or not. You know, I would love to get that chance if that opportunity comes up, but the political and right thing to say in this situation is that I would love to be anywhere that would give me a chance. But, without a doubt, there would be no second guessing in my mind if I could come back home and be apart of something that I love."
We assume that by saying he wants to be a part of something that he loves, he doesn't mean losing, which is what the Browns are known for these days.
Smith is stuck behind Joe Flacco in Baltimore, and earlier this week Buffalo Bills safety Donte Whitner lobbied via Twitter for his team make a move for him. If he's up for grabs, Cleveland could do well by snapping him up. A Cleveland native and 2006 Heisman winner, Smith would be a favorite with fans who already know him well from his college years with the Ohio State Buckeyes. And while he's got a better chance of winning with the Ravens, Smith would have a better chance of getting some playing time with the Browns.

We should try to get Troy Smith. He could be a diamond in the rough. It is sure of one thing, what we have sure ain't the answer.
