Former Edwards' Aide Said He's Refused "Gigantic" Offers for Sex Tape

Former John Edwards aide Andrew Young has a sex tape featuring the former North Carolina senator and his mistress/baby momma, Rielle Hunter. He has described it as somewhat like a trainwreck - its awful to watch but you can't take your eyes off it. Well apparently there have been quite a few offers to purchase the tape, but Young says he has turned them down.

In Young's tell-all book "The Politician", which was released last week, he claimed that he found the sex tape in a box left in a home he and his wife had shared with Hunter. In an interview which aired Monday on ABC's "Good Morning America", Young said:

“I could not have told this story without including this sex tape. We’ve been offered gigantic amounts of money and we’ve said no.”

He says that he kept the tape, as well as phone messages from Edwards, to backup his account of what he saw while he helped Edwards cover up his affair and the child that resulted from him. Edwards lawyers claim Young wrote the book for financial gain, but Young denies that.

Last week Hunter won a temporary restraining order in a North Carolina report demanding that Young return the 2006 video "of a very private and personal nature." In addition, she has filed a lawsuit against Young and his wife, and seeks a jury trial demanding damages for invasion of privacy. In court documents filed Friday, deputies said that they went to Young's home to attempt to recover the tapes and photographs. However after some discussion, Young's attorney told authorities that he could not immediately hand them over.

Edwards had denied the affair for more than a year, and the fact that he is the father of Hunter's daughter for two years. He and his wife have now separated.

When asked on Monday if he would turn over the videotape, Young said:

Deputies said in court documents filed Friday that they went to Young’s home to try and recover the tapes and personal photographs of Hunter. After some discussion, Young’s attorney told authorities that he could not immediately turn over the tape.

“I’m going to let my lawyers handle that."
