Honda Recalls Hundreds of Thousands of Cars Because of Faulty Airbags

Toyota wasn't the only Japanese automaker to report an embarrassing recall today. Honda has announced that they are recalling some 2001 and 2002 model-year vehicles to replace the driver's airbag inflator in an additional 378,758 vehicles in the U.S. The driver's airbag inflators in these vehicles may deploy with too much pressure, which can cause the inflator casing to rupture and could result in injury or fatality.

Owners of the popular Honda Accord, Civic, Odyssey, CR-V, and selected 2002 Acura TL are asked to take their vehicle to an authorized dealer as soon as they receive notification from Honda that their vehicle is affected. Notification to customers will start within this month.

I head that some of them also had faulty hid lights when manufactured!

Now that I read this I am even more disappointed by the current auto market. What's the use to buying a new car when you can expect any time to be recalled. Now I am seriously considering the thought of checking used cars West Palm Beach for some good car deals...

They had received lots of complaints, increasing day by day because of faulty airbags, so they decided to recall 437,763 vehicles. Honda had recalled more than 5,00,000 vehicles for the same problem in 2008 and 2009.
