Google Removes Luge Themed Logo After Complaints of Poor Taste

On Saturday, Google pulled down an Olympic-themed logo that featured a luger after a slew of complaints that the logo was used in bad taste. The logo in question (seen above) appeared on the search engine less than a day after the tragic death of a Georgian luger during training run on Friday.
Many people raised concerns over the timing, however, others suggest that it was a way to tribute the deceased luger. Nodar Kumaritashvili, 21, was killed on Friday in a high-speed crash during a practice run only hours before the Winter Games opening ceremony. After the complaints, Google replaced the luge layout with a snowboarder.
Clicking on the logo featuring the luger took users to a search engine results page of 121,000 matches for Kumaritashvili's name.
