Armed Robbers Storm Poker Game on Live TV, Make Off with $1.2 Million

On Saturday, panic swept through the Grand Hyatt hotel in Berlin as a group of burglars armed with Kalashnikov assault rifles pushed their way into a a European Poker Tour tournament, making off with $1.2 million. The entire thing was captured on video as the game was being broadcast on live TV.

Two of the robbers stood guard by the entrance on Potsdamer Platz, a major public square, while the other two burst into the poker room. Some of the footage of the heist apparently made it on the air, depicting horrified gamblers screaming and fleeing the table.

The five-day tournament included 1000 competitors, and a jackpot of one million Euros.
