March Madness All Day at Quicken Loans Arena

Quicken Loans Arena is playing host to March Madness all day as the Mid American Conference will crown champions in mens and women's basketball. The Buckeye State has all four participants in the games as Akron University will look to repeat last years win in the final and will take on Ohio U. Toledo is facing Bowling Green at 1 p.m. in the MAC Women's championship game.

The Akron U seniors have participated in four consecutive MAC Championships and Chris McKnight who hit the game winning shot to lift the Zips to the title game said yesterday:

"It is very special. Ever since I have been here we have been in this position. I can't settle for anything less – anything else is unacceptable."

OU is in their first championship game in 5 years and junior forward DeVaughn Washington says he likes going against the defending champion from a year ago:

"I kind of like it. We're trying to win our first championship in a few years and to be the champ, you should have to beat the champ. Obviously they're a good team but if we execute the way we're capable of, I think we have a shot."

Tickets are still available for both contests .Can't make downtown for the games? The men's championship game tips off at 6 p.m. and will be televised nationally on ESPN2. Fox Sports Ohio is airing the women's championship at 1 p.m.
