Steelyard Commons Needs an Ikea

Steelyard Commons hasn't even had its full grand opening but I am still going to make a suggestion: Do everything in Cleveland's power to lure home decor giant IKEA. Getting IKEA will generate a buzz and provide people from the suburbs to spend their hard earned money in Cleveland. Getting what everyone else has, namely Wal-Mart, Target, Home Depot, ect, is great but will not provide what Cleveland really needs: to lure people back to the city to shop.

IKEA has stores in Pittsburgh, Detroit, and Cincinnati areas. They seem to be shunning the Cleveland area but if you look at what they offer on their website the companies products seem like a perfect fit for our area. Providing low cost and fashionable furniture and house goods, it would have every soccer mom from Strongsville longing to go Tremont. The neighboring restaurants would probably also benefit from the newfound traffic. So, my advice for you Frank Jackson and members of city council, is to exert as much effort as you can to get an IKEA. But maybe I am being a little selfish because I need a new couch and some other things around the house as well at the moment.
