Buying Girls Clothes
As an adult, you’ve probably met the challenge of buying girls clothes for a daughter, stepdaughter, granddaughter, or niece. With so many different styles of girls clothes available in department stores (as well as on the Internet), the decision to buy something for your little one can always be a challenge.
The fact that various fashions change on a regular basis, the challenge of buying clothes for young girls becomes even more difficult. Not only do you want to find the right outfit for your daughter, but you also want to find the right size, color, and style. As a result, it’s a good idea to keep up with the times and current trends in girls clothing.
When buying clothes for tweens (girls between the ages of 10 and 12), here are a few things that make the buying process easier for you:
Remember that smaller girls grow out of their clothes quickly and you have to think ahead if you want more mileage out of them. For tweens, you can buy clothes that are slightly baggy or larger so that they still fit as your daughter gets bigger. You can also buy clothes in half-sizes to allow for growth in the upcoming years.
Tweens are typically in an “in-between” grown stage. Girls in this stage are usually too big for childrens sizes, yet too small for women's sizes, try buying them girls clothes in petite size. Several different tops and jackets come in petite sizes, and serve as a great buffer for later years.
Skirts can always be a great alternative to buying pants. Young girls can always grown into them (as opposed to growing out of them). If you buy a skirt that is below the knee when your daughter is 9, chances are it will be just above the knee when she turns 13.
