200 Dead Cows Found in Wisconsin

It started off with dead birds in Arkansas and then fish in Maryland. Now, the latest mass animal death incident involves 200 cows who were found dead in a Wisconsin pasture.

The owner of the cattle, which were found dead in Stockton, told sheriff's deputies that he suspects that the cows died from a virus - most likely BVD (bovine virus diarrhea) or IBR (infectious bovine rhinotracheitis).

Samples taken from the dead cows were sent to Madison to be tested. Other animals and people in the area will likely not be affected by whatever killed the animals, say authorities.

This is just the latest in mass animal deaths in the US, which have sparked apocalyptic fears amongst some groups.
