Nearly 43 Million Americans Belong to Health Club
Despite the news that Americans are getting fatter and fatter, more and more of us are joining health clubs. Membership rose 3% this year to raise the numbers just below 43 Million belonging to a health facility.
"While we are very pleased to see growth in membership, we understand that there is still a lot of International Health, Racquet and Sportsclub Associationwork to be done," said Joe Moore, President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of . "It's been a little more than a decade since the first Surgeon General's Report on Physical Activity and Health. And while health club membership has grown by 63 percent since then, the number of Americans who exercise regularly represent just a fraction of the total population."
