Hugh Grant Arrested After Attacking Photographer

Hugh Grant was arrested and taken to the police station for questioning last night after an alledged altercation with freelance photographer Ian Whittaker at Grant's Chelsea home Tuesday morning. Grant was photographered throwing a container of baked beans at the photographer, as well as kicking him.
According to Whittaker, he was in the area to take photos of Grant's ex Liz Hurley, who lives on the same street. But then Grant showed up, and he asked him to smile for a photo. That didn't sit well with the star, who became angered. He reportedly snapped and began swearing at the photographer, kicked him three or four times, and then kneed him in the groin. And then as Hugh entered his house, he threw some baked beans at Whittaker.
Whittaker also claims that Grant asked him if he had a girlfriend or kids, and that he replied he had two. Reportedly, Grant then said "I hope they die of f**king cancer." That is what Whittaker says is his reasoning for pursuing the assault charges against Grant.
"I’m determined to see this through to the end because of what he said," said Whittaker.
At the time of the incident, police were called and arrived on scene. Last night, Kensington detectives stopped by Grant's home to arrest him and take him in for questioning. They took his fingerprints and a DNA sample.
Scotland Yard won't confirm the names of those involved in the incident, but confirmed they were investigating an alleged assault in Chelsea. They also gave these revealing bits of information: “A 46- year-old man was arrested and has been bailed to a date next month. "
