Google-Branded Touchscreen Chromebook to Launch by End of 2012

According to China Times, Google is planning to release a Chromebook of its own, pushing out a Google-branded touchscreen notebook to follow its recent launches of Nexus smartphones and tablets. The Chromebook would be made by Compal, and the finish product will apparently ship by the end of 2012.

In recent weeks, two new Chrome OS notebooks have launched - the Acer A7 ($199) and the Samsung Series 3 ($249).

No hardware specifics have been revealed about the rumored touchscreen Chromebook, but it is said that they have ordered 20 million units of the new, unnamed device.
