The most popular names in Ohio in 2011 were Mason for boys and Emma for girls, according to data provided by the Social Security Administration.
For the boys, Mason was followed by Jacob, Noah, William, and Liam. Jacob had retained the top spot in the Buckeye State since 1995.
Emma, the state's favorite from 2003 to 2006, experienced a resurgence in popularity as it rose to the No. 1 spot, followed by Sophia, Ava, Olivia, and Isabella.
