Northfield Park to be Rebranded Hard Rock Rocksino Northfield Park

Last year, Hard Rock International Inc. purchased the harness racing track Northfield Park in Northfield, Ohio, with the goal of turning it into one of the state's newly approved racinos by adding video lottery terminals, or slot machines, to the facility. Now, Hard Rock has decided to rebrand Northfield as a "Rocksino", giving a nod to Cleveland's rock 'n' roll roots and its many attractions.

The $250 to $300 million facility, which is located between Cleveland and Akron, will feature a music venue, a comedy club and Hard Rock Cafe, in addition to horse racing and VLTs.

Hard Rock Rocksino Northfield Park, as it is now being called, is on schedule to open in December 2013.
