Google to Follow in Apple's and Microsoft Path By Opening Retail Stores in Big Cities
Google has won control of a big portion the internet and computing world now wants to set its footprint on the American mall landscape. 9to5Google is reporting that the wheels are in motion for Google to start purchasing stand alone stores in major metro markets for the holiday season. Google, who is following Apple and Microsoft's path, wants customers to be able to get a hands on feel for their latest products like Chromebooks and Android devices like Nexus phones and laptops.
One could probably assume that this may also mean that Google's next big play, Google Glasses, may be getting closer to mass production.
Google has already put a little imprint on retail in over 100 Best Buys with mini Chrome Stores. The new endeavor will be on a much larger scale and will be "much broader" according to 9to5Google.
