CSU Associate Head Coach Jayson Gee Close to Landing Top Job At Longwood

It looks like the Cleveland State basketball program will be waving goodbye to longtime assistant coach Jayson Gee this offseason. Gee is currently the top candidate to take over the head coaching job at Longwood University and is currently in negotiations on a contract.

Gee has served 7 seasons at CSU under head coach Gary Waters. If he lands the job with Longwood, he will inherit a Division I team that competes in the Big South. The Lancers moved up to Division I in 2007 and the transition has been a rough one. The team concluded a 8-25 season last year and fired Mike Gillian who had a career record of 93-214 in his tenure at Longwood.
