The Unbeatable Democratic Ticket: Gore-Obama 2008?

Remember Al Gore? You know, the former Vice President, and the 2000 Democratic Presidential candidate that won the popular vote? Oh, and there's also that film of his on global warming, "The Inconvenient Truth". Well don't count him out of the 2008 Presidential race yet.

Our guess is that Mr. Gore is waiting in the wings, letting the other candidates fight amongst themselves, preparing to make his move at exactly the right time. And we're not alone in this thinking.

Former President Bill Clinton isn't counting Gore out of the race just yet either. At a recent Air America relaunch, the New York Post reports that political blogger Andy Ostroy asked Clinton "Do you think Gore's going to run?", to which Clinton replied "Someone's got to fizzle. If someone fizzle's, then, yea, he could enter the face. He's got plenty of money, his own money, to do it."

Ostroy then predicted that Barack Obama will be the one to fizzle out, at which time Gore will step up and enter his name in the race. But he won't do it alone, he predicts, Gore would be likely to choose Obama as his running mate - creating the ultimate Democratic party dream team and a nearly unbeatable ticket.

The Gore-Obama ticket possibility is catching on even now, with the launch of several Gore-Obama websites, and a new Facebook group to help mobilize support of a Gore-Obama run for the White House.

Why would President Gore want a VP Obama?

I understand why Obama supporters are trying to push for a VP slot for Al Gore, but seriously, why would supporters of Al Gore or Mr. Gore himself want someone who doesn't share the same values?

Mr. Obama is Corporatist. Even though he campaigned about Iraq being wrong and the injustices of our rights being trampled with the Patriot Act, he then voted to Reauthorize it anyhow and never wrote, co sponsored or voted to end the war, until of course 2 years later when he announces his Presidency.

He is pushing Nukes and coSponsoring Liebermans Bill, but not Boxer/Sanders Global Waarming Bill. Obama is now pushing the Coal Bill and wants to give THEM (ENRON< HERE WE GO AGAIN) Billions of tax dollars to pollute us more.

No, there are many progressive candidates mr. Gore could choose from, that at least shares the same values and principles.

Time for a COOL Change
