100,000 People Can't Be Wrong? Al Gore Fans Hope So

The campaign to "Draft Al Gore" to run for President has hit 100,000 signatures. The Draft Al Gore campaign has received all different types of correspondence urging the former Senator and Vice President to run.

"This enormous outpouring of support for Al Gore is testimony both to his enduring appeal among the grassroots and to the dissatisfaction of the Democratic base with the current crop of declared candidates," said Monica Friedlander, chair of Draft Gore.

Here is an example from a press release issued today:

"Mr Gore, I'm a 13-year military vet who has served in Iraq and
Afghanistan. Having always voted Republican, I bear responsibility for our
current government. I thank you for your 30+ yrs of service and am asking
you to serve again.
-- Ernesto Meruelo, San Diego, CA

"I am a lifelong Republican and in 2000 I foolishly voted for President
Bush. I was wrong. I am older and wiser now. I wish to offer my support
and help in my very GOP state of Wyoming."
-- Philip Hritzak, Casper, WY

Many of those who signed the petition include troops on the frontlines in Iraq and parents of young people being put in harm's way.

"Mr. Gore, my son is going into Iraq today. Please run and bring some
reason to this world. He is in the 3rd ID. Please help!"
-- Sharon Pote, Booneville, AR

Most of all, signatories by the tens of thousands plead with Al Gore to respond to the growing call to serve his country one more time.

"There's no higher calling, than when a nation asks for you to lead. We're
asking you to lead now, and I hope you'll rise to it."
-- Jarrett Wold, Minot, ND

Despite not even in the running (yet) Gore is leading a poll in New Hampshire. The latest data out of the state shows he is ahead of Hillary Clinton 32% to 26%.

The Draft Al Gore campaign also is ramping up radio advertisements urging "Live Earth" Al to run.

From my perusal of certain sites that claim to support Al Gore, it is obvious from the lack of positive discussion about Live Earth (and especially if they truly referred to Mr. Gore as "Live Earth" Al in a radio ad as if they are angry at him for actually having a goal that doesn't give them the attention they are looking for) and what it meant, and an apparent trashing of the event as just a one time event that won't be repeated as if it wasn't good enough that there are Draft people hoping that Live Earth and his other endeavors fail, as if they think that will somehow push him into running. I guess they also didn't read The Assault On Reason which they don't discuss in depth either, as if they would even understand what he meant in it.

It is amazing to me how people who claim to support him can be so arrogant in trashing him and his efforts. I can't see any other reason why certain rabid obsessed "draft" people would continually push the man now, especially considering the resources he has at his disposal and the exposure he has that precludes him needing them at all regardless of any decision other than them wanting a job interview. And do they honestly believe that should he sometime in the future change his mind that they will take credit for it? Now, really, that is a laugh.

It just seems very selfish that all some can do is sit at their modems and trash his efforts now simply because he isn't doing it the way they want him to do it. I sure hope he realizes the phoniness of certain people involved in these efforts to harass him (no doubt thinking they will benefit personally from it) instead of using their time and energy for something worthwhile. And to me, at this point it may be nothing more than a diversionary tactic to get him off the track of his mission. Just who are these people really and why should anyone trust that all of their so called signatures are real people?

Live Earth was simply the launch of his three year plan through The Alliance for Climate Protection that will deliver a blitz of information to the American public to change perceptions and give truth in order to push that political tipping point on the climate crisis which isn't going to happen in this election cycle no matter who runs in this corrupted system. So those "supporting" him just to get their names in the paper better realize this is about our planet before their egos and get with the program, because they are actually hurting his efforts... but then, maybe that is their real plan.
