Lifest 2007 event workers shut down the Air Glory ride after the accident, which occurred at about 4:45pm. A prayer service was held at 7pm, and the music festival resumed at about 7:30pm.
The woman's name and age has not yet been released, and was pronounced dead at a local hospital several hours after the accident.
Just after 9:30pm, an announcement about the woman's death was made from a stage. Music continued, but with more mellow worship songs.
Lifest is an annual Christian music festival also featuring other fun entertainment such as sports and amusement park rides.
The Air Glory ride has been described as being similar to bungee-jumping. Brian Childers of Kenosha was one of those in line when he witnessed the accident. He said that two people went up in the ride, and when the pulled the release he heard a snapping sound. One person fell, and the other remained swinging in the ride.
"[She] hit the ground and she was not moving at all," Childers told local reporters.
