Injury Bug Hits Ken Griffey Jr Yet Again

In the bottom of the 8th inning in a game against the Chicago Cubs, Cincinnati Reds All-Star right fielder went down with an apparent groin injury. This is nothing new to Griffey who has been plagued with injuries throughout his career. It looked like he would go through the 2007 unscathed but the injury bug caught him once more.
Fielding a ground ball in right field, Griffey awkwardly reached down and his legs appeared to buckle underneath him. After being down for a few minutes, he was able to leave the field on his own power but by the first of look of things, it looks like his 2007 season has come to an end.
Griffey Jr is trying to join Sammy Sosa, Willie Mays, Babe Ruth, Hank Aaron, and Barry Bonds as the only players to hit 600 home runs in their career. He currently has 593, and it looks like he has hit his last one for the 2007 campaign.
There is no official word on the injury at this time, but we will update his status when we get word. The Cubs lead the Reds in the top of the 9th 3-2 as they try to win the NL Central Division.
