Amy Winehouse: Banned from the USA?

Amy Winehouse's recent drug bust in Norway, for which she and her husband Blake spent a night in prison, might have landed her in even more hot water. Amy's father, Mitch Winehouse, revealed yesterday that Amy's U.S. tour may be in jeopardy, as it is believed that U.S. authorities will not issue her a visa due to her drug issues.

Mitch Winehouse insists that the drugs did not belong to her, but rather, someone else on the tour. Amy, Blake, and a third individual were arrested after they were found with a small amount of marijuana.

Mitch is blaming Norwegian authorities for misleading his daughter into signing a confession document in relation to the drug incident. Mitch said that Amy thought she was signing a release form. The document was written entirely in Norwegian.

Amy's father said that the situation is now being hashed out between the British Consulate and Norwegian authorities in hopes that Amy can avoid a ban in the U.S.

Amy Winehouse had previously postponed her U.S. tour twice before cancelling it altogether back in late August while she was dealing health problems rumored to be more like drug problems. Now it looks like she won't even be able to go on her latest promotional tour.

British Consulate and Norwegian authorities collaborating

Why are the British Consulate and Norwegian authorities even collaborating to get around a drug arrest so that Amy Winehouse can get a US work visa? What a disgrace. The message should be: do drugs, don't get a work visa to enter the USA. Amy Winehouse is not above the law - why should the USA allow her entry? Amy has admitted doing drugs - so she should be banned entry to do any tour in the USA - it is simply outrageous that a drug addict is allowed a work visa - Amy paid a fine, much like that Idaho Republican Senator who paid a fine and then tried to say it didn't count. It does count. How can Amy Winehouse stand with a straight face and say that she did not realize that paying a fine for drug possession was an admission of guilt?

This is outrageous! Remember what the British government did to the Rolling Stones in the mid 1960's???? What the heck is going on here!

whoo gives a fuck if she does drugs? everyone in the us bloody does.. i mean, if i got a drug conviction in england, i wouldn't be in the public spotlight so the us or any other country wouldn't even consider banning me.

give up, get over it and let a bitch live the way she wants to. if she wants to do drugs let her. shyyt, its her life. u cant punish people so drastically for choices they make that don't harm others. drugs feel good. mind your own habbits.
