Nirvana's Classic Unplugged Concert Set for DVD Release

Nirvana's most striking moment was probably the classic performance they gave on MTV's 'Unplugged'. Fans of Kurt Cobain and the band will be happy to hear that the performance is set for a release on November 19th. If that date is familiar to you, you are on to something. November 19th, 1993, was the day the show took place and the DVD is being released 14 years to the day of the historic performance.
The DVD will feature state of the art 5.1 sound which will make viewers feel that they are actually at the show.
The release pleases bassist Krist Novoselic. He stated:
"The new 5.1 sound really opens it up and it gave me a new appreciation for the songs," he explained. "You can hear what each instrument is doing. It really invites you in and I'm sure everyone will enjoy it in a new way. I'd really like to re-release 'In Utero' in that way at some point."
So, if you have a Nirvana fan on your Christmas list this holiday season, you should probably consider putting this performance in their stocking this year.

The way that Kurt left this planet still makes me feel sick and still brings a tear to my eyes.
I remember tripping acid and listening to this cd in my car with my best bud in a downtown parking lot in 1994. We were ready to go into this club called Sparks. We had just started peaking at the same time we parked on the street. Kurt's voice was mesmerizing. We just sat there watching a couple about 100 feet in front of us hugging and making out. The music blaring from my car was apparently the perfect aphrodesiac, as they continued to make out and do all that lovey-dovey shit for what seemed like an eternity. My buddy and I were glued to the cd blaring out of my car stereo speakers. We wanted to reach for the door handle and get out of the car, but we just couldn't. Something about that cd and tripping was unbelievable. It was magical. Only Jimi and The Doors have given that same feeling. 44 minutes later we finally walked into the club. Crazy. That's what this cd does to you. Touches your soul and moves you in ways that are hard to describe. Can't wait for 11/20!!!
